| | | I wouldn't touch a hybrid with a 10 meter cattle prod. those things are mechanical and maintenance nightmares. As someone who does his own repairs, I want nothing to do with electric motors, huge deadly battery packs, the added weight.. oh screw it. you know what I'm saying.

| | | they're supposed to be doing a hybrid Ram for 2010 (so, out next year I guess) that improves mileage 40% in city. They're takinga lesson from the Hybrid 6.1 Tahoe. So I guess that'll be 20-22mpg. Not bad, but IMHO not worth the ownership headaches or long-term environmental investment. (those batteries are nasty)

| ntm the extra 10k added to the price tag for that little "hybrid" emblem you get on the tailgate.

| Highway mileage will suffer. It's just a fact. Just about every hybrid made, including the Toyota Priapism or whatever, gets far less highway mileage than predicted/promised.

| Yeah, ntm those Prius' engines shut off when you come up to a stop light...not sure how much I like the idea of it just stopping while I'm driving

| | | I was driving a friggin Toyota Prius around yesterday. How the hell can people possibly enjoy that?? It's very cramped inside. The stereo sounds awful. The acceleration is worse than a Honda Civic. The handling (Which in a tiny car, you'd expect to be crisp, since you're not fighting inertia/mass) was like a 1987 Hyundai Excel. It's ugly and expensive.
So other than getting really great mileage as you drive from home to the Apple store to the Starbucks, it has no redeeming value whatsoever.
