Plus in the Academy cops fire far more rounds than most service members.

I don't care how many rounds they fire. If they don't put the rounds on target it doesn't count. Mind you I worked at a gun store where cops pointed loaded weapons at me because of stupidity. Cops shooting the bench, cops shooting the ceiling, and other stupid crap. It wasn't just cops from Montgomery. It was Harris County, Texas DPS, Federal officers, Montgomery County, Conroe PD, Houston PD, Woodlands PD, Shenandoah PD (oddly these guys were the best shots even though they had the smallest town with the least cash). Even then there were a lot of horrible shots and tons of NDs.

Servicemembers are not much better. I've seen it in the Army and the Air Force. Ever seen someone double tap a clearing barrel? I have. We can go back and forth anecdote to anecdote on this. But actual training REQUIREMENTS will give a clearer picture.

I ended up with a new .22LR barrel to try out... Plus I have some parts laying around... The only thing I need is a tube so I'm thinking about it...

You do realize that cops actually get more and better marksmanship training than most service-members right?

I've met a lot of cops who pay for their own training outside the dept... I think thats one of the reasons that SOMETIMES police officers score higher.

Then again, there are other factors that they rarely experience such as combat-like stress... You also have some people on both sides who strive to be better... I dunno.

I've had the hardest time finding .22LR Eley Match lately and when I do find it... It's ~$260 per 500 rounds. It's just bad.

Bottom line... I've had 3 different places tell me the brit's haven't been shipping nearly as much Eley match. It's stupid.
