Well, like I said, it's all in the mount and base. I'm sure you can find one that is camera ready. But there is nothing prohibitive about a reflector. That's where the vast majority of amateur photography is done. On the other end of things, a lot of exposures and image stacking is done

I used to have a buddy who was involved with the NYC chapter of the Amateur Astronomers Association. They used to set up telescopes in places all over NYC to observe the stars. However the ones who did photography would rarely come out to any events that were withing 5 miles of NYC. I remember going to Lake Hoptcong in NJ for one of his meet ups with him there were about a dozen folks with cameras setup on their telescopes and those scopes has some heavy duty looking tripods though at the time digital cameras did not exist yet.

Light pollution is da debbil. Fortunately, a short drive from here will get pretty dark. I can't imagine trying it in NY city.

Yeah, you should be good in your area. It's like that here - in the city limits, forget about it. Go 20 miles south into Wheat country, though, it's like a scene from star trek. But I've never drug my telescope out there. Too afraid of Malachi. By the way, your DSLR with a timed exposure, and a wide lens, will get some awesome milky way images.
