    Silent Hunter Online

I've always been a fan of Sub games, way back since Silent Service on the c64. The tension that can build in this genre is amazing, if you have the patience and time of course.
After Ubi prety much ruined their latest offering with the worst DRM ever invented, they are launching a free to play online effort, which could be genius (or terrible) But worth a looksee for fans.
    Beta is open for registration.

I agree after trying a few, they seem to make the good stuff only available for paid players. or force you to farm for premium stuff.

I prefer paying upfront and not being nickel and dimed to death. I now the free to play model is here to stay because folks are dropping serious coin into it, but I would rather just pay a monthly fee knowing that I have access to everything rather than playing a dumbed-down version and having to constantly toss money into the pit to access features.

If the game is good enough, you can enjoy it without buying anything.
I've never played a sub game before but they do look awesome! I'd rather just watch edited gameplay videos lol
