Command and Conquer freeze

Hi,

I hava a sager 8887 with 128 vid mem, 1 gig ram and everytime I play Command and Conquer (General) I would freeze about 20 minutes in the game. It would either turn black or freeze. I have updated the video drivers and active x drivers, but it still froze. Anybody encountered this problem and/or know how to fix it?

There seems to be a little "conflict" with DirectX9.0/9.0a and HT-enabled machines.

I blame MS, because that's a safe bet.

Either go back to DirectX8.1 (via re-format/re-install) or pray for work-arounds. Maybe when DirectX10 (DXX?) comes out it will be resolved.

Usually, the freezes and problems are with MS's own games, ironically enough. But I thought I'd let you know.

I have the same problem here...C&C Generals freezes, pretty randomly though (sometimes a couple minutes, sometimes a few hours), just freezes, and after I hard-boot, windows says i had an error, which their website attributes to my graphics driver getting in a loop, or something like that. I don't wanna reformat and reintall windows!!!!!:mad: :mad:

Had this exact problem, turned off HT and reverted back to DX 8.1 (yes, it means a FULL reinstall), and no more freezes at all, in any game.

I'm using Catalyst 3.2
