i can't imagine wanting to remotely wipe your entire PC like that. A phone? no big deal - a few photos, your apps, a few documents - most of that stuff should be online.

that's the problem with a single ecosystem. I read the article yesterday and started thinking over my security. I have 2 layer on my gmail, which I rarely use anyway, the writer did not. It's a pain sometimes but no big deal. My laptop is protected and I don't save passwords to sites in my browser. Most of my shopping sites don't have my credit card stored, and I'll prob take off the one that does. I only use paypal for single payments, no bank account stored.

it's not perfect, but i'm getting there. each of these articles helps me realize what else I need to do.

Coffee - you want the remote wipe if you lose and can't recover your devices.

Example happened a couple years ago at a night beach party.

    Girl: "I lost my phone"
    Me: "Here's mine, call yours"
Girl: Calling. Douche picks up. "Hello? Can I get my phone back, I'll reward you"
Douche: "haha. No. Smoke a blunt!" and more stupid shit
Girl: "I can't lose that phone. Images. Information. NO NO NO!"

Obviously the douche doesn't care or give phone back. Was smart enough to turn off location services and all. So after a couple more calls, answers, hang-ups. She calls Apple, remote wipes all she can. Calls credit card companies associated with apps on the phone, all put on notice or temp. canceled.

I took most of that as saying "Our security, built in of course, is to keep people using Apple approved products. Oh and maybe hackers?"
"Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun."

My MB battery life is horrendous when watching netflix. It barely had enough juice to finish a feature length film when brand new.
