So now with IO, is it ok for Commander to fight?

Are commander, in IO mode allowed to fight? I mean, commanders in IO don't have artillery or vehicles to drop.

...they could fight in the first place, thats why they give the commander that sub menu (default T button) so you can issue uav, supply, etc. from in the field, our only rule was commanding in a vehicle

(btw, we're discussing a IO server before u make a thread asking about too)

We haven't decided if we will be using IO yet or not as Guntizzle pointed out. However, if we do, allowing the commander fight or not will need to be considered. Its my personal opinion and I'm sure that of anyone who's commanded in a competitive league such as CAL/TWL that commanding should be the commanders only duty.

Even with out arty there's still stuff for the commander to do like constantly spot other players. In an IO environment the game play is all on the ground and moves so fast the UAV is very in effective as it will cover only a small spot and the fighting takes place all over the map. There's always someone to spot.

Now as for those who would say that this isn't a competitive environment like CAL/TWL. I would say your wrong. Our servers attract the highest ranked and most skilled players in the world. If that's not competitive, i don't know what is. Its the type of competitiveness you CANNOT find anywhere else...

Could you add the no commanding from vehicle notice to the server annoucement and join screen. We had some idiots taking up the armor last night on Kark/Jal server. Always fun trying to defend a flag against 2 enemy APC's and a tank and your assets are camping hotel. :P

Sorry that went on...if you ever need someone to clean up a mess in isle 3, just hop in Ventrilo and grab an admin. There is a BF2 admin in there just about 24/7 these days.

We have the rules of the server posted on our forums which are then advertised in-game. We don't want to muck up our sexy logo screen image with a bunch of text and rules.

Yeah, sR has always been very helpful when dealing with problems. I was so busy with squad and complaining about it to myself that I totally forgot about getting on Vent. LOL

It would take more than that to ruin my time playing on your server. Thanks for the space!!

The thing is thats against the ROE anyways you see... We follow the ROE so its covered... In fact every ranked server must follow it...
