| | | Pikachu got nerfed, but is still awesome. Kirby got uber-buffed, and is more awesome than before.
Zelda is just unbelievably powerful with Din's Fire juggling now.
Sonic is not as good as he should be. Not to say he sucks, he just lacks some good, strong moves.
Now, as for the control changes, there's good and bad. The slowing down of characters movement really isn't something I've noticed impact the game much either way, the falling speed change, however, is definitely for the better, it opened up a whole new world of aerial combos.
The removing of glitches (because that is what they are, save for L-cancelling) just forces Melee players to explore other avenues. I never used any technical abilities in Melee, but I can hold my own against most anyone who does. It's neither necessary nor gamebreaking.
L-cancelling was not something I ever really did, it seems like a pretty minor change, it just calls for more foresight into your aerial strikes (but coupled with overall faster recoveries and aerial combos, this is frankly a non-issue).
My only qualm with Brawl is the random directional changes the side-B moves. At least, it would seem so. I think hitting side-B like a smash triggers the attack in whatever direction you're already facing. A pretty major flaw that has sent me rocketing away from a stage or enemy on many occasions.
Aside from this, Brawl plays like a dream, Final Smashes are pretty all over the place, as are trophies and some of the new items. It's much more a party game than its predecessors and is easily just as competitive under the right conditions.
Brawl tops my 11/10 for Melee with 12/10.
Something new would have been nice, but I suppose trying to tweak a pretty close-to-perfect formula is more dangerous than helpful. |

| | | hooked up brawl and mario cart to a fucking huge projector at my buddy's house, it was awesome.
Beer, Doobies, Bitches, GAMES!
I am starting to learn some things I don't like about the game. For instance, sometimes you get stuck and can't move, block, jump or anything if someone is attacking you. He wasnt holding me or anything, it was weird cause he would do it before and I could get out.

| | | The only three things I hate about Brawl:
3. Snake--Come on. A stealth character in an all-out fistfight/melee? The character doesnt use melee attacks in MGS, so they had to give him a rocket which he fires at the groun and up in the air for two of his smashes, and the down smash is a stupid mine that's so easy to avoid. And I'd like to see his side B rocket hit anyone at the speed.
The guy's pretty strong, but Nintendo's attempt at adapting a character that's totally wrong for the game pretty much failed in terms of his moves.
2. Direction-changing mechanics--half of the time, the game requires some serious jamming of the control stick to change directions, and cannot be done simultaneously with a side-B move. The other half, you don't even move the thing and it snaps in the opposite direction, so when you side-B, i.e. Fox Illusion, to the left, the former problem occurs after you get a sudden change in direction to the right, and you just airdash further away from land.
1. Tripping--LAME!
