Original Xbox Games Playable on Xbox 360

Every game will have 4xAA and upscaled to 720p. Whether that's still at 4:3 ratios or at 16:10, I don't know yet. But I'm very happy to play LOTR: Return of the King. With a R500 powering the game, maybe I can finally beat the Palantir of Sauron!

As the link says, other updates will come.

Wait, none of the Splinter Cell games are backwards compatible.

Neither is Soul Calibur, Guilty Gear, Capcom vs. SNK 2 or Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

That sucks. Well thank God that SpongeBob Square Pants:Battle for Bikini Bottom is backwards compatible.

Don't be stupid. This is just the initial list. If you read the FAQ's with Todd Holmdahl you'd see they're still working on others.

Fortunately that list is never, ever, ever, ever going to be updated by MS through the Xbox Live with a 5MB software emulator (or downloaded from Xbox.com). It's permanently stuck that way. So you're screwed.

Never.

yes but wouldn't it be nice to be able to play all the old games i already have the moment i get the 360, and not have to wait around for microsoft to enable it? i have friends who play this game every day (counter-strike for xbox) and their definetly not very happy atm. It really doesnt make sence as its definetly one of the top 5 most played games on live!
