A game that was thought once exclusive to the PS3 is now coming to the 360 as well, Sega confirmed. So what does this mean... are third party exclusivity deals a thing of the past? Or will they still be around but in a much more limited quantity? Anyways, its good news for all 360 owners, since Virtua Fighter was going to be the new killer app for the PS3 during the first few months of next year. I guess we get to keep waiting till Lair comes out to feel compelled enough to pick up a PS3.

When SEGA announced Virtua Fighter 5 for PlayStation 3 last May, people believed it would be one of the third party exclusives that drove consumers to pick up Sony's console. Today, SEGA announced that Virtua Fighter 5 would also come to Microsoft's Xbox 360.
The game will be available in late-Summer 2007, which considering the February release date for the game on PlayStation 3, probably means the game is exclusive to the platform for six months -- expect VF5 on 360 no sooner than August.
This isn't the first game we've seen announced for PS3 end up a multiplatform title (cough, Assassin's Creed, cough) and it won't be the last.
