| | | The last one, Double Agent, sucked from all accounts I've heard, especially didn't hold a candle to Chaos Theory multiplayer.
I love the series though, so I hope they've brought back some of the good parts.

: 89 th | | bad news for Splinter Cell fans Quote:
UK magazine Xbox World 360 is reporting (via CVG) that Ubisoft Montreal is unhappy enough with the upcoming Splinter Cell: Conviction that they're taking it "back to the drawing board." The magazine reports that the decision to put the game back in the can for further development will delay it until 2009, or possibly all the way back to 2010. Ubisoft themselves have declined to comment on the story, although they will be holding their Gamer's Day in Paris next week, so answers may be forthcoming then.
Conviction was supposed to incorporate things like crowd stealth and environmental combat, similar to another Ubisoft Montreal creation: Assassin's Creed, into the traditional Splinter Cell stealth-action gameplay.
Here you have one of the tough questions that developers and publishers have to ask themselves. Do we keep running with the same gameplay and risk letting the property get stale, or do we change things up and risk alienating our core audience? I wasn't enamored with the changes they made to the last Splinter Cell, Double Agent, and I wasn't really looking forward to Conviction. However I applaud Ubi for taking a stand and trying to re work the game this late in the game rather than just shove it out the door. A number of games have taken similar breathers lately, and in most cases it seemed to improve the final product.

: 92 nd | | | Yep. Chaos Theory looks alright for the PC, but there are some things that really piss me off. I want to be overwhelmed when I play. Like perfect lighting/shadows, movement, AI, guns, camera angles, missions, alternate story lines (no mission fails unless you die, if you kill someone you're not supposed to, the game goes on differently), some HD cutscenes.. etc.
I really hate seeing Sam Fisher talk and it looks like some horrible English Dub for a different language movie. I want to see injuries you sustain from earlier missions still exist in later missions.. of course if you lose a leg you wont be limping.. but you get the picture.
That's why I can't be a video game developer... I'd keep feeding ideas that our technology unfortunately probably wont be able to keep up with. I'd waste millions of dollars and the game probably wont be released for 20 years.
Sorry man.. I totally went off topic.. but I seriously want to see a perfect game released one day. Not just graphics *crysis*, but the complete package.
