xbox live and prepaid cards

finally going to or was going to set up an live account with a prepaid card tonight .

I go through all the emails,phones,handles etc...

Get to the part where i can redeem a card, or select 1,3 or 12 months subscriptions. select redeem and enter the code on the back and i comes back with code not valid or something to that effect. Purchased the card at a local wal-mart .

Am i missing something or did they not activate the card correctly at the register?

I have a feeling that i am going to the store tomorrow.

any input/help would be appreciated.

They may not have activated it, or you could have entered the code wrong. (No offense intended, just covering bases here.) The person behind the counter when I bought mine didn't know quite how to activate it, and called for someone else. Something similar coulda happened with you. Hope you get it figured out.

operator error!

i kept putting, what i thought was an "x".

this morning tried one last time and looked at the "x" and thought well maybe it could be a "k" and sure enough.
